Event Announcement: Alaska Geographic GeoBee

The Alaska Geographic GeoBee is looking for volunteers on March 29 to moderate, judge, time, and keep score at the 2019 State GeoBee. This exciting event features the top one-hundred 4-8 grade geography students from around the state, competing to answer questions written by the National Geographic Society. The winning student gets the opportunity to travel to Washington, DC, to compete in the national GeoBee.

The GeoBee is also looking for donations of prizes/goodies to give to the students to help spark their enthusiasm in geography. This year's GeoBee is Friday, March 29, at the Egan Center in downtown Anchorage.

If this opportunity is something you or someone you know would be interested in, or if you would like more information, please contact Kristin Shea at ak.geographicbee@gmail.com.
