Alaska Arc User Group (AAUG) is a nonprofit organization that provides a forum for training, techniques, exchange of knowledge and data among the users of ESRI software and related geospatial services. The group meets regularly in Anchorage, typically on the 3rd Wednesday of every month.

The session culminates in a project spotlight where Python was used in tandem with GIS to automate topographic analysis of surrounding inclination angles to assess solar exposure of water bodies.
