This IT position performs a wide variety of IT functions including: providing technical expertise in support of deployed IM applications; developing hardware or software technical requirements for new or modified IT systems; analyzing and developing optimal hardware and software configurations; providing technical guidance in the sustainment process of various IT systems; and providing data platform storage deposit and retrieval functions; and server system administration duties.
Performs special operations on IT hardware and software specialty areas in the IM realm. Plans and coordinates short and long range project plans for Regional and Forest requirements. Conducts analyses and recommends solutions or improvements for IT issues affecting the IM and R10 Regional Office. May work on various teams that cut across many of the IT specialty areas within Regional and inter-Regional IM realm.
Analyzes alternatives and recommends solutions relating to long term operational support for various information systems. Reviews general business and functional requirements that support the need for systems and recommends solutions or alternatives. Examines data, ensures accurate and timely data storage techniques and schedules of IM data throughout the Region. Resolves inconsistencies in information, and implements changes or improvements to existing platforms.
Participates in conferences, workshops, and task groups within the agency or with external partners as required. Performs a variety of other duties related to information technology (IT) projects involving IM program-related issues that contain complicated technical elements.
