Unlocking Real-Time Insights: Enhancing Transparency and Efficiency in the Mat-Su Borough Using ArcGIS Velocity and Big Data

In modern organizations, employees are constantly capturing photos of their projects and storing them in folders that are only known by a handful of people and then forgotten. This talk will introduce a solution that uses a geoprocessing tool in ArcGIS Pro that scans a storage drive and creates a point feature class with thumbnails. Attendees will learn how the tool scans storage locations, selects geotagged images, and generates a point feature class. I will walk through all the core components of the geoprocessing tool, demonstrate how to use the tool, and explain how to adapt the tool for your own organizations.

My name is Jaeden Conary. I am an Alaska-grown 25-year-old and currently a senior at UAA studying Geomatics. In additional to my studies, I work at the Alaska Railroad as a Land Service intern. Over the past year, I had worked on major projects in the Alaska Railroad which include flying drones, capturing 360 imaging, writing Python scripting, locating survey monuments, and working with LiDAR.
